ROY PIERSON

Roy Pierson is passionate about innovation trends and applying technology solutions to real-world business challenges. Roy has demonstrated strategic leadership and account management with high-profile clients, leveraging his extensive experience in product engineering and consulting services leadership. He brings a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a collaborative philosophy to achieve ambitious goals.

Roy serves as the Chief Technology Advisor for the Southwest Institute for Emotional Intelligence, where he has consulted on online learning development platforms and is leading the development of our Emotional Intelligent AI agents. He is also the System Director—Software Platform Strategy at CommonSpirit Health, where he provides strategic direction and architectural leadership for the company’s Consumer and Patient Experience and Digital Strategy.

During his fifteen-year career at Microsoft, Roy achieved significant milestones, gaining a breadth of experience in product sales and services, including sales and services leadership, enterprise strategy consulting, and industry experience in retail, hospitality, manufacturing, and financial services.

Roy holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Arizona State University and resides in Phoenix, Arizona.  He enjoys traveling and snow skiing and has four children—Ethan, Chloe, Alex and Gia—who share his love of math, science, and music. Roy volunteers his time in youth basketball coaching, including coach of the girls basketball team for St. Thomas the Apostle in Phoenix, AZ..
