Focus on Lyme
The typical Lyme patient cannot afford to travel cross country to seek out care from a Lyme specialist. Nor the out-of-pocket costs associated with IV antibiotics and cash pay office visits. Many patients are so ill and tired they cannot advocate for themselves in an insurance system that does not recognize their condition.
Focus On Lyme was created to help all Lyme patients by making effective change within the diagnosis and management of this disease so patients maintain a quality of life.
Fresh Start Women’s Foundation
Every woman deserves a bright, happy and safe future where she and her children can thrive. Fresh Start Women’s Foundation provides women with education, resources and support to positively transform their lives. It’s helping women to create stronger communities and families.
At Fresh Start, we believe in the idea of women supporting women. Our Mentoring Program has been in place for over 20 years and provides each woman with the opportunity to receive long-standing and committed support from professional women and their peers in both one-on-one and group support environments.
The ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation
is a global leader in advancing understanding and effective philanthropic and nonprofit practice as a distinctive community development strategy. Through research, education, technical assistance and convenings, the Center focuses on advancing nonprofit leaders and philanthropists to solve problems, to realize a community’s highest aspirations and to accelerate social impact.
The Society for Information Management (SIM)
has been a community of thought leaders who share experiences and rich intellectual capital, and who explore future IT direction. Currently, SIM has over 40 chapters throughout the U.S., and growing.
The Arizona Chapter of SIM strives to strengthen professional communications among members who direct the application of information technology in private and pubic organizations. Chapter activities include:
- Meeting to share innovative ideas and real world experiences which address enterprise information needs. We have excellent speakers both from our membership, and bring in industry executives and subject matter experts from many sources.
- Providing presentations by leading national information-management professionals and executives who benefit from management-information systems.
- Challenging our comfort levels by exchanging ideas with peers and business counterparts.
- Being a resource for each other, and personal networking.
Sojourner Center
Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven from domestic violence for women and their children in Arizona. Since our founding, we have transformed lives by providing shelter and support services to more than 60,000 adults and children affected by domestic violence.
Sojourner Center’s Volunteer Program provides opportunities for individuals, companies, churches, civic groups, students, schools, families and friends to partner with Sojourner Center to help our residents overcome the impact of domestic violence. Last year volunteers provided more than 16,000 hours of service at Sojourner Center, making a valuable difference in our work.
Alliance of Arizona Non-Profits
Our work is aimed at strengthening Arizona’s nonprofit community as a whole, while also providing services and programs that directly help individual organizations succeed. By working with government to advocate for nonprofits, providing resources to help nonprofits save money, and creating opportunities for nonprofits to connect and grow, the Alliance strives to promote healthy, vibrant communities.
Founded in 2004, the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits is a trusted resource and advocate for Arizona’s nonprofit sector. Comprised of more than 1,000 members across the state, both nonprofits and those in the community who support them, the Alliance is dedicated to furthering the common interests of Arizona’s nonprofit community.
Hope Women’s Center
Our Women’s Resource Room offers women an opportunity to use their earned education and mentoring “client cash” (points) to purchase needed items such as toiletries, clothing, diapers, baby items, food, household items, and utility assistance.
In addition to our education, mentoring, and material resource programs, our Phoenix Center also has a children’s program for children ages 0-5 while their mothers are participating in center programs.
Community Bridges
We are always looking to connect! We pride ourselves in letting the recovery community be able to express themselves through the Sober Nation Blog. The blog is a way for us to spread experience, strength and hope among each other, and hopefully help someone who may be struggling with addiction.
Prevent Child Abuse Arizona
More than 85,000 babies are born in Arizona each year, over half of whom are at risk for poor developmental outcomes including abuse and neglect.
Since 1989, Prevent Child Abuse Arizona has been a leader in bringing research-based prevention services to communities throughout the state. Each year, our prevention services reach more than 60,000 young children and their families with parent education, home visits and child welfare system improvements. Thousands of community professionals will attend one of our many best-practice trainings.
